This publication is part of the Alternative Forest Management series. It describes a case study on management of a mixed conifer and hardwood forest in southwest Oregon. The landowners' management philosophy is to promote mature forest conditions while maintaining multiple species and age classes, to increase fire resistance and decrease the potential for high-intensity wildfire, and to financially support their management practices through several income sources.
