Properly drying solid wood products before use improves the wood's performance once it is in service. Describes how to properly air-dry lumber to a target moisture content; including orientation and layout of the stack, proper stacking, controlling the drying rate, using drying sheds, and determining moisture content by using sampe boards and/or moisture meters.
